Job Description


  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Designer or equivalent role.
  • Highly skilled at systematically applying logical reasoning techniques to query, inspect, cleanse, profile, and study data in structured, semi-structured, and unstructured formats for the purpose of deriving knowledge to support business decision-making and mapping data between source and target systems to support application integrations.
  • Highly skilled at SQL Programming with the ability to perform the most complex queries against relational databases in an efficient manner.
  • Skilled at building moderate to complex conceptual, logical and physical data models which are visual representations of an enterprise’s business data. Experience with ErWin or other modeling tools is important.
  • Knowledgeable at transforming data into compelling, meaningful and appealing visualizations, such as graphs, dashboards and reports, using intuitive industry visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Translate business needs into conceptual, logical and physical data models that adhere to design standards and best practices that support long-term business solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders and other members of IT.
  • Design and implement necessary database tables, implements data strategies and builds data flows in collaboration with and in support of the Application Development team.
  • Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata. Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts. Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
  • Assist in the development of best practices for data design, standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models that ensure optimal performance, high quality data and reduced redundancy.
  • Assist with ensuring data design environment and tools (e.g. ERwin) are maintained in an optimal state.
